Flock 1.2b Beta is Available for Download
In an effort to increase the social features of Flock, there is a new beta version of this popular social Web browser. The name of the new version is 1.2b Beta and you can download it here.
This release makes it possible to keep up with your friends’ activities on Digg or Pownce, and get AOL E-mail notifications instantly as new messages come flowing in.
Keep your friends and notifications with you and check out the stories your friends have Dugg conveniently anytime with Flock’s People Sidebar. Digg any site you’re visiting with the “Digg It” button. Instantly skim hundreds of Dugg articles from your friends via the Media Bar.
The Flock Team continually strives to make Flock your single stop for social networks, so they’ve added Pownce to the People sidebar and AOL Mail to Flock’s Webmail feature. Keep your Pownce friends with you while you surf, instantly update your Pownce status, and easily “drag’n'drop” to share anything you find on the web.
For AOL webmail users, you can now stay better connected to your email communications with Flock. Get your AOL Mail notifications instantly through Flock’s Webmail dropdown.
In an attempt to help attract new users to their bandwagon, the Flock Team has also started to assemble how-to videos on using Flock 1.2. Below are the six videos they have created so far:
It is important to point out that this is a beta version, which means it could be loaded with bugs. Beta software is imperfect. If you are an existing Flock user, and if you want to be extra safe by protecting your profile (bookmarks, feeds, passwords), here are the instructions.
