Just by accident I just found out that Flock’s main offices were recently moved from Mountain View to Redwood City. According to Evan Hamilton, Flock’s Community Ambassador, this move better suits the changing company.
Evan included several nice-looking photographs of how their offices look like. It is to be noted that they were still in the process of moving when he posted these pictures. Nevertheless, it gives us a good idea of how their new offices will look like.

Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, the great German philosopher, once said; "Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion." If you examine closely Apple products, you will notice that these products have been designed and manufactured with passion in search of world-class quality. It was passion that pushed Christopher Columbus to plunge into the foaming brine to prove that the world was round and not flat. It was passion that made Socrates drink the cup of hemlock poison instead of fleeing the City of Athens in the middle of the night like a coward. His words still echoes in the halls of Philosophy, "The hour of departure has arrived, and we go our ways--I to die, and you to live. Which is better, God only knows." (Apology of Socrates by Plato). I firmly believe success is interwoven with passion.

None of the heavyweight browser players is willing to wave the white flag. Each one is playing hardball in an effort to claw their way up to capture market share. Yesterday we posted an entry about the evolution path of Internet darling Mozilla Firefox and its Alpha 1 version. Today it's Flock's turn.

The browser war is active in all fronts. Now it's time for the Flock's people to show some of their stuff. Yesterday late afternoon, an interesting Flock message appeared in my screen indicating that Flock 0.5.13 was ready to install. There were two options, to install at once or wait to do it later. Since I'm very impatient, I decided to do it at once and pressed the "Restart Flock Now" button located at the bottom of the message box. In less than you can wink an eye, Flock relaunched and installed the upgrade. Very impressive! Now, what's new?

Yesterday I posted an entry that Flock Web browser has been upgraded to version 0.5.9. In order to acquaint the readers with this new build, I detailed some of the main new features. One feature that caught my eye was the integrated spelling checker Spellbound, which I greatly missed in a previous version of Flock.

As you know, Flock's people are not very good at marketing this imaginative browser specially designed for social connections and inter-activity. I found out Flock has been upgraded by accident when I stumbled upon Software's Whipping Boy , a technologically-oriented blog written by rslomkow.

After Flock web browser splashed gracefully into the blogging scene late last year, very little has been said about it. I've searched online computer magazines, blogs, Technorati, Yahoo and Google but no joy. In an effort to find out what was going on with this unorthodox browser, I searched for blogs written by the creators of Flock--and their inner circle--and found a stimulating post written by Jeremy Chone in his blog, Bits and Buzz . The title of his post is "To Flock or Not to Flock" written on January 3, 2006.

One of the things that struck me when I first downloaded Flock was its beautiful blue theme. It was sleek and a pleasure to the eye. Now you can have the best of both worlds, the Flock look and feel with the power of FireFox! I found out through Uneasy Silence Blog that a Flock theme for Firefox is available for download. Check it out and impress your friends with this new blueish look. Their faces will turn blue with envy!

Extensions are small add-ons that add new functionality to customizable Web browsers like Firefox and Flock. They can add anything from a toolbar button to a completely new feature. They allow the application to be customized to fit the personal needs of each user if they need additional features, while keeping the Web browser small to download.
